Typography Project

For our design class we learned a bit about typography and portraying an idea through type. We were given a number of words to explore with and create images that portrayed that word. I chose the word "bigger" and portrayed it with the letter "i". Making the letter in larger and larger letters gives it the feeling of "bigger".

For this project we were given the task to come up with a business card idea. I always thought the idea of a bar code a kind of cool idea so thought about using the concept of a bar code as a design element in a business card. Although my current business card doesn't use this idea, I still think it's a pretty cool idea!

Money Project

One of our final projects was to create our own money. We could create our own money with our face on it or make up some countries money. We were even allowed to redesign Canadian money. I chose to create money for a ficticious country called "Cascadia".
The front side of the money depicts one of the founding fathers of the Cascadian federation as well as a backdrop of the Capital city (Vancouver).

The back side of the money depicts a map of the country which would include the present day British Columbian coast as well as parts of Alaska, Washington State, Oregon and Northern California.

As one of our Illustrator projects we were given the task of coming up with a concept and design for gradshow postcards that would be sent out to industry professionals in the interactive design profession.
I came up with the concept of jetting off or flying free. Symbols I used were a lot of open air scenes with birds, and rocket ships.

CD Cover Project

Using a temple for a CD we were given the task of designing liner notes for a CD. At the time it was getting close to Christmas. I decided to make a CD that depicted a Christmas Scene. The reindeer is of course "Rudolf".
