About Evan Vandersluys

I am an interactive designer with a strong focus on front end design and usability.

I'm originally from Nanaimo, Vancouver Island and studied Pacific and Asian Studies at the Univeristy of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia. After graduating from University, I moved to Japan and taught English at public Jr High, Elementary and Kindergarten schools in Takamatsu, Kagawa Japan.

After my last contract ended I decided to return to Canada to pursue a career change. Always having an interest in Design and web design I applied into a program at Capilano University.

I studied Interactive Design at Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC Canada. The two year program taught among other things coding in html, CSS and programming in PHP, Actionscript and Javascript.

I particularly enjoyed his classes in design, flash animation and e-learning. I also didn't mind getting my hands dirty with PHP, ActionScript, JavaScript and Jquery scripts.

Right now I'm is finishing my 6 week practicum. I am interested in all aspects of web design however I'm most interested in Flash, user-interface design, and content managment systems. Contact me for your next project.
